AFM probes for detecting mutated genes

The probe has a shaprt tip that is an eye of an atomic force microscope, and MutS protein capable of detecting mutant genes is immobilized to the tip by using sophisticated chemical modification.

MutS is immobilized in a specific orientation and density to recognize various mutant genes on surface effectively, including BRAF V600E gene captured in the slide test spot. In addition, the spring constant and the resonance frequency are selected so that it is possible to obtain a specific force map at the high speed and with nano-resolution by an atomic force microscope.
